How Prairie State Packaging Saved Christmas

Cooper’s Hawk Winery needed specialty packaging ready for Christmas. When last minute changes threatened to delay shipments, we jumped into action with a quick and elegant solution that enabled these gifts to be shipped on time and safe from damage.

The Design

We use Autodesk Inventor to turn concepts into three dimensional models which allows our customers to spin and examine designs faster and more cost effectively than creating physical models.

We can create a 3D model in 1-2 days and then send those models as a PDF which the customer can then manipulate and view from any angle within the PDF (no special software needed). Physical models, when needed, typically take 1 -2 weeks to create.

The Final Packaging

The final packaging was a collaboration of five companies, led by Prairie State Packaging to create the holiday experience Cooper’s Hawk was striving for.

The Problem / Solution

Mid-project we learned these boxes needed to also be shipped individually via UPS in addition to the pallet shipping we had designed for.

Fortunately, we were able to tap our in-house partner Aerocell Packaging to create an inflatable package around the box to give it the extra protection needed for that more demanding shipping option.

We were able to design and create that packaging in record time and get the product out in time for the holidays.
